Integrated roof rails provide mounting points for compatible racks and load-carrying accessories. Depending on your setup, that can mean a rooftop tent, bikes, kayaks, ladders or other equipment.

RSI publishes EVO roof-load ratings of:

These are cap ratings, not permission to exceed your truck’s limits. Your usable capacity is limited by the lowest-rated part of the complete system, including the vehicle, bed, cap, rack and mounting hardware. Account for the weight of the rack, tent and other equipment, and follow all applicable manufacturer instructions.

Keep the weather outside—and the trip moving.

Rain happens. So do dusty roads.

SmartCap’s sealing system is designed to provide weather protection when correctly assembled and installed. Its Positive Pressure Air Vent helps reduce dust being drawn into the enclosed bed while driving.

Proper installation, seal condition and maintenance matter. Weather-resistant does not mean submersible, and high-pressure washing can force water through the vent.

Important Ford Ranger installation requirement

Certain 2024 Next Gen Rangers built on or before September 19, 2024 require Ford load-box reinforcement brackets, also called J-braces, before installing qualifying elevated bed accessories.

Confirm your truck’s build date and requirements with Ford or your servicing dealer before installation. Use the current SmartCap installation instructions for the exact cap and vehicle combination.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SmartCap EVO Sport a camper shell or a truck cap?

Both terms describe this type of enclosed truck-bed cover. The EVO Sport is a stainless-steel truck cap with side access and compatibility with selected storage and roof-carrying accessories. It is not a complete slide-in camper.

Will it fit my Ford F-150, Super Duty or Ranger?

Only if you select the application designed for your truck’s model, year, bed length and any specified configuration. A cap intended for another Ford model or bed size is not interchangeable.

Are storage bins, a camp kitchen or a roof rack included?

Those are separate accessories unless an explicitly identified bundle states otherwise. Integrated roof rails are mounting provisions; they are not a complete roof-rack system.

Can I mount a rooftop tent?

A compatible tent-and-rack setup may be possible, subject to the ratings and requirements of the entire system. Confirm rack compatibility, mounting hardware, total weight and your vehicle’s limits before purchasing.

Is it waterproof?

SmartCap is designed for weather protection when installed correctly. It should not be treated as submersible or impervious to forced water entry. Avoid directing high-pressure water into the vent and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions.

Can I remove the cap later?

Yes. Follow the removal instructions for your application and arrange suitable lifting assistance and storage.

What warranty does it carry?

RSI states a three-year warranty covering SmartCap parts and workmanship, subject to its current warranty terms, conditions and exclusions. Vehicle warranty considerations are separate; consult Ford or your servicing dealer if you have questions about the installation.

We offer free shipping the contiguous US for order over $199.99! This obviously excludes super heavy and freight items. Alaska and Hawaii are sometimes difficult, so you most likely will receive a call from us, as we may incur extra shipping fees. PO Boxes can sometimes be difficult, depending on the size of the package, so we may email to ask for an address that accepts UPS or FedEx, which more easily allow us to ship to you for free. Otherwise, we do reserve the right to cancel your order.

Regular orders

All Items will be shipped as the customer chooses at checkout, and a tracking number will be provided. If there are special delivery instructions, please leave them in the notes.

All items will be properly padded and packed to minimize the risk of damage in transit. However, if a product does arrive damaged, it is up to the buyer to contact the shipper and file a claim, as all products are insured for the amount of purchase.

We do our best to calculate Freight costs at checkout, but to get the most accurate shipping costs we suggest reaching out to us in advance. Over phone or email so we can give you the spot on costs, get more delivery details and make arrangements easier.

Returns

GTFO is happy to offer a 15-day refund from the purchase date. Any returned product must be in new condition, in original packaging, for full refund. If a product is defective, we will defer to the manufacturer's warranty, and reach out to them on behalf of our customers. The warranty of any product purchased can be found in the product owner's manual or online.

As long as the above conditions are met, we will issue a refund, MINUS A 20% RESTOCKING FEE.

WARRANTY: For products that are being returned due to a warranty claim, GTFO will reach out to the manufacturer on your behalf, to help sort the problem out. Please contact us first if you believe you have a defective product, as often we will want to ship it back to the manufacturer, instead of us.
